Michael Verde Seminar: What is truth? Jesus, Buddha & Socrates

This 5-hour seminar (including lunch) will explore “truth” as it presents itself in the life and teachings of three persons whose influences on world history and human thought are profound, pervasive, and alive and well: Jesus, Socrates, and Buddha.

In each instance, we will explore a particular quest for a particular kind of truth. With Jesus, we will explore the truth of God; with Socrates, the truth of wisdom; and with the Buddha, the truth of suffering.

While the presentation will establish the historical context of each of these person’s lives and teachings, the presentation’s focus will be on their lives and teachings as they concern the truths of these particular realities specifically.
